Wonderful aromas have been gracing our home the past few days – cookies, strawberries, chilli. We have been busy in the kitchen and we can’t wait to share our tasty treats. Everyone in my family has taken part in helping and it’s been a great time of fellowship. Christmas music is flowing through our home, as well, and when the radio is off, we are singing the songs. My special moment today was snuggling at nap-time with my 2-year-old and 3-year-old. As I sang Silent Night, they each started singing along with me. So, as we start the last week before Christmas, let’s remember the journey Mary and Joseph took to Bethlehem and the arrival of our Savior. Gather your family and celebrate His birth!
Luke 2:8-14 (ESV)
8And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. 10And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
